Ooops

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

I was on the way home from Young Life last night and I kind of tried to beat the yellow light off the exit. Of course there was a cop there and I got pulled over. Luckily, he didn’t give me a ticket.

I deserved a ticket, I guess… Sometimes I get a little prideful and think stuff like “I go the speed limit and no one else does.” But then the minute I do something wrong I get pulled over. Well, I’m glad that they’re enforcing the law, even if I get a ticket. In fact, I think they should give out more tickets to people like me who run lights :)

Tinkering

Monday, November 28th, 2005

Yes, I fixed something. Our hot water heater is new and had been turned down so that our showers were cold on the hottest setting. So I spent about an hour in the basement trying to adjust it. I felt like everything had a label that said “If you touch this, you will probably die.” So I was pretty careful and switched two sets of breakers first. Then I took off the outer cover, two layers of insullation, and fiddled with the six knobs. I could do it now in 10 minutes, but this was intense because I was reading everything and scared of electric shock and death from scalding.

Now, it’s off to the MA distribution center for my first day of training as a postman.

The Talk

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

It went pretty well for my first talk. The leaders were very encouraging and gave me a few pointers. The “Sin Talk” is a bit challenging in that you have to let a bunch of people know that they are not perfect and have a need for forgiveness. I used the story from Luke 5 about the paralytic – Jesus addresses the man’s sins before he heals the guy.

New Job and Song Page

I recently updated my music page, and it should be much easier to view and listen to songs I’ve recorded. Link:

Song Page

At some point I’ll do an entire site revamp when I get bored. Oh and by the way, I got a job at the post office! At first it’s a temporary position, and hopefully turns into a career position at some point.

Jill Quotes

Monday, November 14th, 2005

Jill’s best two quotes of the day:

1. (In reference to something I tried on) “That looks tri-sexual.”

2. “Is the moon bigger than the Earth? It’s way bigger, right?”
