A Great Trip!

Tuesday, June 28th, 2005

Back home in Boxborough now, but we had a great trip! Our thanks goes out to Sarah & Dan for a good time in the city :) Joanna & Sean for showing us some of the the Tampa sights! Grandad & Jan for putting us up and always catering to us. We felt right at home :) Aunt Wilma for all the great stories! Buster the kitty for all the clawless play time! And the Merrill clan & everyone who helped care for Ubu while we were away! We did a lot of swimmin’, hot tubbin’, driving around to see the sights, going out to dinner, playing Euchere, catching lizards, and listening to some great stories and jokes!!

FL

Saturday, June 25th, 2005

Here I am in Florida! I’m at my grandparents’ house. On the plane over we sat next to Liz Ayers, who we know from Trinity church way back when. Today Jill’s visiting a college friend who lives two blocks away from here. Small world, I guess. My grandpa and his sister, grandma and her daughter, Jill, and I all had dinner last night. Good stories, especially about my dad :)

Chalkboard Wall!

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

We used some chalkboard spraypaint to do a portion of our wall as a chalkboard – came out really cool! Fun to do too! It is fun to be a home owner!beforeafter

Buddies

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

Tonite we’re having dinner with people from Illinois. How do we know them? From playing online games! Cross of Valor is the group of people that I play online games with. It is made up mostly of Christians, although of late we’ve been letting friends and co-workers of original members in. We have played games like Myth2, Lineage, Shadowbane, and now World of Warcraft. They’re a great group of guys who I enjoy playing with. Recently, my sister started playing with us! I’ve seen Kerris more virtually lately than in “real life” (she IS in Pennsylvania). Also, one of my friends from church plays with our group as well.

Tonight one of the original CoV members and his boss are coming to MA on a business trip! We’re all having dinner – there’ll be 6 people there!

Happy Flag Day

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

It was a good flag day around here! :) Thanks to everyone who sent happy wishes! Ben and I went to this great french restaurant in Acton called Le Lyonnais and it was great! We were seated and then greeted by the super french chef. Food was great, service was great, atmosphere cute, and even the doggy bag is creatively made up (mine was tinfoil wrapped up like a swan!) They even have a seperate crepe cafe section with all crepes! great place, highly reccomended! check them out at lelyonnaiseacton.com

Good Idea, Bad Idea

Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

Any Amimaniacs fans out there? Well, they have this little sketch called,”Good Idea, Bad Idea”, where they do stuff like….Good idea: dressing up for Halloween like a Pirate. Bad Idea: dressing up for Halloween like a pinata [clip of kids beating down on this boy who's dressed up]. Anyways, they are pretty funny! So i thought of my own, inspired by ben. Good idea: jogging a mile on a track with shoes on. Bad idea: jogging a mile on a track with no shoes on. Major blisters in there!

Smashing Good Read

Monday, June 13th, 2005

I just finished the book “Smashed” by Koren Zailckas , and I thought it was great! I first became interested in the book because I went to school with Koren. She was a year under me, and i was curious about what kind of writer she was. Well, she is really an excellent writer – great style, great humor, great honesty. It is not an uplifting tale, but one that has many insights about growing up as a girl in our culture. It also gives a much needed warning to parents and everyone about the seriousness of alcohol abuse in our culture. Worth the read. :)

Travel

Friday, June 10th, 2005

Normally I don’t like to travel. There’s too much to do right here at home! I have plenty of hobbies that I would like to get better at. Jill does like to travel, so occasionally she’ll get me to go somewhere. And flying on a plane can be fun/romantic I guess – especially when it’s just the two of us. At the end of this month we’re going to Florida to visit my grandparents! My Granddad is, among many other things, a devoted Reader of the Blog. He probably puts most of you to shame with his internet prowess! Rawr!

Time for work, it’s Friday :D
